Ms.Maki

Hello! My name is Maki. I was born and live in Japan. I have worked as an English teacher at cram schools, private tutors, and schools for over 15 years. Since my student days, I have always wanted to teach English in a developing country. Even in a place without the usual stationery, blackboards, and internet access that you'd expect in Japan, I wanted to see how far I could go on my own, so I taught English in Benin, a country in West Africa, as a form of training.
As a foreign language teacher, my goal is for students to come to view ideas and cultures different from their own as "interesting" through learning a foreign language. I have been involved in the field with the belief that we must not raise people who attack others with fluent English.
Another thing is that, as someone who used to work in a school, I regret not being able to do anything for students who would inevitably fall behind in group lessons. While I wanted to be there for them, I couldn't go any further due to my position. I decided to make it my second career to be a last resort for people who want to learn, even if it's not at school, and to provide a place for them to learn.

I have difficulty learning in group classes. I want to start learning English again after giving up once. I want someone to guide me towards my goals, such as qualification exams or entrance exams.

If any of these apply to you, we look forward to hearing from you!

My hobbies are reading, watching movies, traveling, and walking my dog. I love meeting new people. Let's learn English together and open the door to a wider world!
